We base our comprehensive modelling capabilities on our many years of design experience and specialist scientific knowledge. Our modelling directly informs our design work, allowing us to predict building performance and better understand the natural systems operating within each urban environment.

A Comprehensive Range of Modelling Services

We provide a full range of services regarding options analysis and feasibility reporting. Our design reports are firmly grounded in our modelling capabilities in water balancing, flood and catchment, as well as our informed understanding of peak flows and long-term building performance. These design reports provide a range of feasible options or considerations for water treatment and ratings.

An Integrated In-House Model

We have developed an integrated in-house model, which we use to develop accurate water balance models for a range of development projects including commercial buildings, residential developments and mixed use precincts. This complex model is adapted to suit each specific development and provides an accurate prediction of individual water demands. Our modelling takes into account the type of building use — whether office, residential or other — and the natural population changes that occur over varying time periods.

We use long term historical rainfall to assess rainwater yields, optimise tank size, and to size wetlands and other treatment elements as required. Through our modelling we are also able take into account the predicted effects of climate change, which inform the overall design and help to characterise future proofing considerations.

At CJ Arms we are constantly analysing building and metering data to feed back into the model and help improve accuracy. Our expertise allows us to analyse modelling outputs and monitoring data, which provides value and direction to the design process.
